Project Description

Discovery Center

Bengaluru, India

The client tasked PLUS with examining the building programming to come up with a unique concept for the sales center and temporary entry to the project.

Discovery Center:
The client tasked PLUS with examining the building programming to come up with a unique concept for the sales center. We approached this task by asking: What is the story of the sales center? We created a unique public realm to attract people from Bangalore City and, over a period of time, convince them to make the new Bhartiya City their permanent residence. The building is split into two levels so that the upper areas can be reserved for show units and the lower areas anchored by a café and water feature can be used as public space. This design allowed most of the public spaces to be directly accessible from the outside.

Entry Studies:
The scope was to build temporary entry signs and a gateway for the city until the construction of the main highway is complete. The main highway will become the main entry point to Bhartiya City. The idea for the temporary entrance was to create bold and iconic elements that would symbolize the arrival of a new city. The entry landscape features were designed so that they could be included in the future landscape design.
